Who we are

Dann's Holiday Lets is run by Dann Melendez, which decides how your personal data is used (the "controller" under UK data protection law).

Tech Equity Property Ltd (company 15813867) runs this booking site for us and takes your payment on our behalf; it uses your data only to do that.

What we collect, and why

When you book: your name, email address and phone number, your dates, the number of guests and what you paid. We need these to take the booking, send your confirmation and arrival details, and contact you about your stay. The legal basis is the contract you make with us.

Your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

If you tick the box to hear from us when you book: we email you occasional news and offers, with your consent, until you unsubscribe with the link in any of those emails. After that we never email you news or offers again, and we keep your address only to make sure of that.

When you send an enquiry: your name, email address, organisation if you give one, and your message. It is emailed to our team and kept with this site's records so we can reply and follow up, then deleted two years after you sent it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you, or taking steps towards a booking you asked about.

When you write a review: the name you choose, your rating and your words, published with the month you stayed. You choose whether to write one.

When you use the site: your IP address is turned into a one-way code to stop abuse of the booking and enquiry forms. The code cannot be turned back into your address and is deleted automatically, normally within a day.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and nothing tracks you across other sites. The only sign-in is for our staff.

Who we share it with

Stripe, to take your payment and prevent fraud. Google Cloud, which hosts this site and stores bookings in the Netherlands. Google and Zoho, which carry our email.

When you book, the dates (and nothing about you) are shared with the other sites we list on, such as Airbnb, so nobody else can book the same nights.

We share data with others only when the law requires it. We never sell it.

Some of these providers may handle data outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or the standard contractual clauses approved for UK data.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept for six years after your stay, because UK tax law requires us to keep accounting records for that long. Enquiries are kept for two years and then deleted automatically. A published review stays up until you ask us to remove it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, or limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere. Email dabriellemelendez@gmail.com; we reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
